Budget checklist

Before you stake

A personal checklist. It is this site’s advice, not a rule from the law.

My checklist

I know how much I can afford to lose this month, after rent, food, school fees, transport and savings.
I have set that amount as a deposit limit with the operator.
I never stake money I have borrowed.
I stop when the limit is reached and do not try to win back losses.
I bet only with operators on the LSLGA register.
I know how to self-exclude if betting stops being something I control.

Ticks are not saved: this page stores nothing. The tools behind items 2 and 6 are described under Limits and self-exclusion; the register under Check and complain.

If betting is causing harm

Lagos law requires licensed operators to publish where players can get help with gaming addiction, and their staff must be able to tell you about helplines and addiction resources on request. You can also speak to a doctor or someone you trust.

(3) Every licensee and agent shall make available to the general public a printed statement approved by the Authority with information concerning where a player may get assistance for dealing with gaming addictions.
